Overview
Executive Profile
Andre E. Susanto is Quantum Power Asia's Chief Technology and Strategy Officer, leading technology strategy, technical development and project integration across the platform's clean energy portfolio. He brings more than 20 years of international experience across renewable energy, industrial decarbonisation, energy storage, transport and advanced technology, underpinned by degrees in physics and mechanical engineering. Andre provides the data-driven link between board-level strategy and field execution, translating complex engineering requirements into structured, financeable development.
At Quantum, Andre plays a central role in the regional project pipeline, spanning cross-border electricity infrastructure, utility-scale solar PV and battery storage, industrial decarbonisation, and the integration of variable renewable energy into complex and coal-dominated grids. His work covers technology selection, system design, techno-commercial modelling, permitting and land strategy, and business-model development. He embeds data-driven analysis across the investment lifecycle, building de-risking frameworks that govern how development capital is deployed from origination through to long-term operations.
He has played a key role in the development of more than 7.5 GW of clean energy projects across the Asia Pacific region. In addition, recent advisory work includes leading a data-driven, GIS-based site assessment that identified locations for 2.2 GW of ground-mounted and floating solar in Indonesia, developing a technical and economic roadmap for the early retirement of coal power in Sumatra using solar, biomass, hydro and battery storage, and conducting technical and commercial due diligence on more than 1 GW of greenfield and brownfield acquisitions.
Earlier in his career, Andre led a renewable energy division to an eightfold increase in revenue and, as a founding executive of a clean energy company, co-developed a smart modular grid technology that secured multinational funding and attracted a major international energy company as a strategic shareholder. He has also contributed to the governance verification behind a US$1.6 billion results-based lending facility funded by ADB, KfW and AFD, and structured a US$100 million private equity facility for off-grid and isolated-grid clean energy.
Andre has worked across Asia Pacific, Europe and the USA and his work has been recognised through the ASEAN Energy Award, UNIDO's Energy Globe Award and selection as a semi-finalist in Shell's LIVEWIRE Top Ten Innovators. He is a certified Green Finance Specialist (RENAC) and holds bachelor's degrees in Physics and Mechanical Engineering from Portland State University.
