Executive Profile
Dean Travers is a senior energy executive, board director and strategic adviser with more than 30 years of experience across renewable and conventional power, infrastructure investment, mergers and acquisitions, project development and operations.
Dean supports Quantum's work by advising on the structuring of complex M&A transactions and project delivery frameworks, drawing on his deep transactional oversight in asset development and acquisition.
Dean previously held senior leadership roles with ENGIE across Australia, Southeast Asia and Europe. His responsibilities included establishing and leading ENGIE's renewable energy development business in Australia, overseeing the development and construction of large-scale solar, wind and grid-connected battery storage projects, and directing power-sector acquisitions and development activities across Indonesia and other Asian markets.
He is a Board Member of the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA), where he also serves on the Risk and Audit Committee, and a Non-Executive Director of ACEN Corporation, a publicly listed regional renewable energy developer headquartered in the Philippines. He also advises New Energy Nexus Ventures on investments in climate technology companies across Southeast Asia.
During his tenure at ENGIE Renewables Australia, his team secured more than 500 MW of solar and 300 MW of wind projects and helped introduce an innovative long-term corporate power purchase agreement offering to the Australian market. In Indonesia, he led renewable and conventional power development initiatives spanning utility-scale solar, distributed generation, microgrids, gas, hydro and major independent power producer transactions.
Earlier in his career, Dean led strategic analysis, market-entry and M&A initiatives across Europe and North America, covering conventional and renewable power generation, fuel procurement and risk management. His experience combines board governance, commercial structuring and investment analysis with direct responsibility for project development, construction and operating performance.
Dean holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical Engineering, a Bachelor of Engineering with First Class Honours and a University Medal, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of New South Wales. He is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
